Science & Education

Our Science & Education programs advance scientific discovery and expands access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Reflecting the values of our founders, we believe that research, critical thinking, and strong STEM learning are essential to improving human and environmental wellbeing.

We support initiatives that promote scientific inquiry, advance emerging fields, deepen public understanding of science, and challenge scientific misconceptions. This includes funding research and educational programs that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and evidence-based learning, helping people engage meaningfully with science and its role in society.

A core focus of the program is increasing access to STEM education and advancing excellence across all levels of learning. In K–12 education, we support classroom-based and community programs that expand access to STEM, cultivate curiosity, engagement, and early pathways to STEM careers — particularly for underserved groups and communities.

At the post-secondary level, we primarily support STEM excellence through scholarships, bursaries, and research funding, helping students and emerging researchers achieve their potential.

Post-Secondary Partnerships

The science and education programs also support the work of strategic partner universities, including McGill University, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Concordia University, and Simon Fraser University. We are not currently taking funding applications from other universities or major post-secondary educational institutions.

2026 Focus

We are currently reviewing our strategic priorities in Science and Education and are not seeking major new initiatives in 2026. During this period, we will continue supporting projects that advance access to excellent STEM education, especially for underserved groups.
