Apply For Funding
The Trottier Family Foundation funds initiatives across science, education, health, climate, environment, community and international programs. We support organizations and projects that help us achieve our goals of advancing knowledge and catalyzing solutions to systemic societal and environmental challenges.
Submit An Application
All funding applications must be submitted through our online portal. Once an application is fully submitted, please note that it typically takes 3-6 months to provide a decision. Complex projects may take longer to review.
Step 1: Eligibility Questionnaire & Login
New applicants must complete the eligibility quiz located on the homepage of the online portal. The quiz also includes required organizational information and optional equity data, which will be used for all future applications.
Once you have successfully completed the eligibility quiz, you will receive an email with a request to create a username and password for your account.
Returning users: Once you have completed the eligibility quiz, you can sign in using the “login” button at the top right of the page.
Note: partners that received funding before April 2026 will be required to fill out the eligibility quiz and create a new account.
Step 2: Complete your application
Navigate to the “funding opportunities” menu located at the top of the page and select the program you would like to apply to. Using the online application form, please fill out all necessary fields, including required and optional documents. You may save and come back to your draft application as many times as needed. However, please note that once an application has been submitted, it cannot be reopened.
You can see the status of your application (Not Submitted, Submitted, Under Review, Awarded or Declined) at any time by selecting the My Applications page on the portal.

Step 3: Decision
Once your application has been fully reviewed, you will receive a notification of our funding decision via email. If your application is successful, you will be asked to sign a memorandum of understanding. A member of our team will reach out with more information.
All approved grants can be found in the “Awards” section of the online portal.
Step 4: Reporting
Reporting helps us see that your project stays aligned with the goals of your grant and gives us a chance to provide feedback and learn from your work. Specific requirements are outlined in your grant’s memorandum of understanding. Your assigned TFF staff member can answer any questions.
All reports must be submitted through the online portal: go to the “Deliverables” section, select your grant, fill in the applicable fields, and upload your documents.
We have two kinds of reporting:
Larger or multi-year grants: Annual and/or final reports are required, including a cumulative expense report. Use the templates below:
Smaller or short-term grants: Reporting is optional. You can use our optional reporting form or submit in another format.
